NEWS, PROJECTS, ANALYSIS

Heritage Conservation Society

We are pleased to announce that our President, Mark Richard Evidente, has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board of Trustees of the Heritage Conservation Society (HCS). He joins Paulo G. Alcazaren, Gemma Cruz-Araneta, Richard T.S. Bautista, Silvana Ancellotti-Diaz, Ivan Anthony S. Henares, Ivan Homer U. Man Dy, Liliane Rejante-Manahan, Manuel Maximo L.C. Noche, Ernesto F. Villavicencio and Fernando N. Zialcita, all noted advocates for built heritage in the Philippines. Their respective profiles are linked here.

Mark hopes that his training in tourism, law and planning will help create new strategies for preserving built heritage. His appointment builds on his contributions as a speaker in two previous conferences organized by HCS, where he discussed creating and using such strategies through new laws and innovative policies.

HCS is the "prime mover and advocate for the preservation of Philippine built heritage resources in order to contribute towards the establishment of a Society that preserves and values its cultural heritage through advocacy and volunteerism, project implementation, education and information."
