In 2012, TwoEco researched on tourism shopping market trends and advised Tutuban Mall in downtown Manila. Tutuban is known as a center for bargain shopping particularly for cloth and clothing, and has been hosting a regular night market of goods and food for both locals and tourists.
The mall complex is built around a heritage structure - an old train station terminal - over a hundred years old and built in the Spanish colonial wood and stone architectural tradition, which enhances its value as a tourism attraction.
The current train station, in a basic concrete structure, is now located at the rear of the mall and is still in use linking downtown Manila with the provinces of Southern Luzon.
